Megan was born in Berkeley, raised in Lafayette and was educated at Sonoma State University and UC Davis with a degree in chemistry. She gravitated to business after college and has been in the real estate business for 40 years and has been in Galt throughout that time. Megan studied for and earned her Broker’s license in the early 80’s when interest rates were at 16% so she has seen wild markets before. She has owned and managed real estate offices and continues to hold her Broker’s license. Her business philosophy is that her customers deserve the best advice and guidance that her 40 years of experience can muster, and she feels quite protective of them. She says that the variety and challenge of serving different people in an economic scene that is a moving target never fails to test her skills and dedication. The patronage and trust of her returning customers is supremely valuable and much appreciated. Her spare time is filled with hiking, kayaking, skiing, playing the guitar, doing photography and generally being out-of-doors. She has travelled to Europe and Africa, and has camped and fished all over the western United States, but her first love is the high Sierras. Megan served as a Galt Planning Commissioner for 5 years and has worked with extensively with builders and developers. Through the years since 1979, she has been the President of the Chamber of Commerce, the Galt Boys and Girls Club, Galt Real Estate Action Team and Galt Scholarship Foundation. Her volunteering has included the Galt City Advisory Board, Citizens Commission on Human Rights, the Galt Intra-Community Volunteer Exchange, the Legislative Action Committee at the Sacramento Board of Realtors and Chairperson of the Galt Economic Development Task Force Committee. She has also been a volunteer lobbyist at the Capitol in Sacramento for the Citizens Commission on Human Rights for the past 20 years. Megan has many awards for outstanding production as a Realtor, including 7 years of Masters Club, 3 years of Million Dollar Club awards and 4 Centurion Team awards with her husband Barry. In 2014 Supervisor Don Nottoli Jr. awarded her with a citation for 35 years in business from the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.
